New Irish domain ☘️

As of today this blog has found itself a new home at the newly liberalised kieran.ie domain.

Until very recently Irish domains had very strict registration rules; they could only be registered by those with close connections to the island of Ireland, and had to follow specific rules on what format they could be. For example as a new Irish citizen I could only really register variants of kieranjones.ie following the general pattern of first name then last name. However as of March 23rd 2018 the format rules have been relaxed, someone with a close connection to Ireland can now register any domain they choose on a first come first server basis, so I registerd kieran.ie

Why an Irish domain? Because I'm very keen to embrace my new Irish citizenship, but also because a first name only domain name is proper cool, so why not? 🙂
